Build this handy tool cart for your shop

How many times have you searched for tools in your tool chest, opening drawer after drawer, to find the one item you need? Or, are your tools stored on the wall by the workbench?

This may prompt going back and forth from the project to the work-bench to constantly obtain tools.

Bryce Kirian, a fourth-generation Ohio farmer, decided to create a tool cart that allows him to move tools to where he is working, yet still keep everything organized and easy to access. To construct his idea, Kirian built a base with 2-inch angle iron that measured 36×48 inches. He mounted 5-inch wheels to this frame.

He then welded 2-inch angle iron to the base, angling the corners to a measurement of 18×36 inches at the top. The corner posts have 3⁄4-inch plywood attached, ending with an 18×36-inch top. The top can be used as a small work surface or a place to store lubricants and other items.

“It is wonderful having everything close by and in plain sight,” Kirian says.
